A talk radio show interview provokes a war of words between fans of two popular book authors, and sparks a debate about the pros and cons of engaging in manipulative head games with others Call it 'The 48 Laws of Power VS The Four Modes of Verbal Communication.' Even though Book Authors Alan Roger Currie ('Mode One,' 'Upfront and Straightforward') and Robert Greene ('The 48 Laws of Power,' 'The Art of Seduction,' 'The 50th Law') share a mutual respect for one another's work, many of their most avid fans and readers are going to
battle over whose philosophies and principles are the most valid.
Currie's books promote the idea of upfront, straightforward honesty when it comes to expressing one's romantic and sexual desires, interests and intentions to others; Greene's books open the eyes of the reader to the many psychological tactics that others use in their personal and professional lives, and essentially suggests that all of us are deceptive and manipulative to one degree or another.
Greene was recently interviewed on Currie's popular talk radio show, 'Upfront & Straightforward' (BlogTalkRadio Internet Radio Network), and was challenged by Currie to explain the virtues of being deceptive, misleading and manipulative with others. 'I couldn't even finish the interview. Currie's questions were dumb,' said Mike Lewis, a loyal fan of Greene's books. 'Currie came across as a hypocritical Christian type' added Lewis.
Greene himself said during the interview, 'Some women want to be lied to and manipulated. This is why many of them love 'bad boys.' The guys who are 'jerks' and 'bad boys' play games with their heads all of the time.' Currie disagrees. 'The reason why women love 'bad boy' types is because these guys can afford to blow them off. They usually have so much attention from women coming their way that they don't need the attention of any one woman. I believe, in the long run, manipulative head games always backfire.'
Greene's most recent book is 'The 50th Law,' which he co-authored with superstar rapper Curtis Jackson, otherwise known as '50 Cent.' The book promotes the idea of taking bold action and maintaining a fearless attitude, concepts that Currie happens to agree with. 'I love the idea of being bold and fearless. I totally agree with Robert regarding these principles. We just don't see eye-to-eye when it comes to the idea of being manipulative with others.' Currie said his interview with Greene has led to the highest number of archived podcast downloards for any episode within the first 48-72 hours after the live interview was concluded. 'People are downloading this episode like crazy.'
