Smokers are continuing to boycott goods and services, adding further misery to organisations already suffering as a result of the credit crunch.

A recent exercise conducted by pro-choice group Freedom2Choose revealed a large number of organisations that had been effected since the introduction of the smoking ban. From pubs, cafes, clubs and restaurants, through to hotel chains, public transport, pharmaceuticals, sports

venues and holiday parks. Notably, donations to particular charities and political parties such as Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation, New Labour and The SNP were also cited.

Colin Grainger, vice chairman of Freedom2Choose states, 'I was quite surprised at the sheer number of companies that people are refusing to support. All the companies named in the exercise either actively supported the legislation, or even took it one stage further by implementing their additional rules to discriminate against tobacco enthusiasts.'

The full report listing the organisations named is available on the website at www.freedom2choose/info.
