2014-08-25 13:50:08 - High-performance 24/7 playout: SD, HD and 4K streaming for IPTV info channels, digital signage screens, advertisement displays and for IP-based video walls

Odelzhausen, Germany - Teracue eyevis GmbH, a manufacturer of IPTV and IP video systems announces the availability of the new ICUE-PLAYOUT streaming server for up to 4x 4K streams or 16x Full-HD 1080p60/50 files.

ICUE-PLAYOUT is a new compact 2RU appliance for high-performance multi-signal streaming playout. It is used to deliver IP-video streams into presentation and information applications, and is ideal for looping or scheduling single video files or complete playlists into digital signage players.

“One of the new hot features is the ability that our ICUE-PLAYOUT appliance can now stream multiple AV files fully synchronized. That means we can stream out four synced HD streams to deliver 4K resolution; or we can deliver pre-produced video content to a group of

presentation displays to show e.g. a high-speed train or a spaceship flying through the individual displays. This type of synchronized playout is a novelty for IP-video and streaming based delivery”, notes Karl-Heinz Wenisch, CTO of Teracue eyevis GmbH.

The ICUE-PLAYOUT appliance is based on the ICUE media server engine which was originally started by Teracue development back in 2001 and is today in the 4th generation. ICUE-PLAYOUT is designed for secure and stable 24/7/365 operation, and is e.g. also used inside large IPTV and OTT platforms to generate numerous ad-channels simultaneously. “ICUE-PLAYOUT servers can easily be clustered and can be combined to enable the setup of redundant systems”, adds Wenisch.

ICUE-PLAYOUT allows scheduled, manual or infinite-loop playout from uploaded or recorded MPEG-TS transport stream files. It supports unicast or multicast streaming output. A new auto-upload function enables simple and quick import of new playout files into the appliance; including JPEG thumbnail and XML metadata support (name, description, etc.).

It is also an ideal source for sending content over the standard IP network to eyevis IP-based LCD displays; either with fully integrated eyeProcessing units (EPU) or to LED video walls or displays supplied with external EPU units. The EPU is able to act as a multi-channel receiver, and as a high-performance multi-viewer decoder.

Teracue will be presenting IPTV and IP-Video solutions and the new ICUE-PLAYOUT server at IBC 2014 on stand 9.B24.
