- SmartMark Communications for NetCracker Juliet Shavit +1-215-504-4272 jshavit@smartmarkusa.com or NetCracker Technology Donna Bastien Director of Marketing +1-781-419-3367 Donna.Bastien@NetCracker.com or Telecom Ian Bonnar Media Relations Executive +64 9 358 6688 (extension 96688) ian.bonnar@telecom.co.nz Telecom New Zealand (Telecom) has selected NetCracker's OSS suite to speed the delivery of innovative services and the rapid expansion of next generation networks. NetCracker's solution will support Telecom's formal operational separation into distinct business units -- a transformation that will pave the way for new services and capabilities, and create greater value for its customers and shareholders.

Telecom, the largest company by value on the New Zealand Exchange (NZX), provides a full range of customer-focused online and communications services. AAPT-PowerTel, a Telecom subsidiary, is the

third largest telecommunications provider in Australia.

Telecom provides fixed-line, mobile, and Internet services to consumers as well as small and medium businesses; converged technology and telecommunications solutions to large businesses; and next generation network connectivity products to Service Providers.

"To support Telecom's strategy for long-term growth, its business units need to deliver a new generation of innovative, world-class services," said Frank Mount, Telecom New Zealand's Group Chief Transformation Officer. "To achieve this goal, the Shared Services business unit has launched an aggressive project to transform its operations."

Telecom has acquired NetCracker's Order Management, Customer Impact Analysis, Service Inventory, and Resource Inventory modules, as well as NetCracker Framework. These products will enable Telecom to migrate legacy systems, improve data quality, accelerate the deployment of next generation services, and improve the customer experience.

"NetCracker's ability to transform the Service Layer and model next generation infrastructure will enable Telecom New Zealand to continue the delivery of innovative, new services and the rapid expansion of next generation networks," said Andrew Feinberg, NetCracker Technology's President and CEO. "We are excited to be involved in this major business transformation at Telecom."
