COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., April 11 /PRNewswire/ -- TAEUS International Corporation, a Colorado Springs-based intellectual property consulting company, today announced it has made available free patent analysis scores on many of the patents being offered for sale at the Ocean Tomo Spring Live Intellectual Property Auction on April 19 in Chicago. The free report, or TIPSheet, is available for immediate download at http://www.taeus.com/.
"Evaluating the patents has produced some interesting surprises," said Dwight Olson, Executive Vice President of TAEUS. "We were particularly stunned that the patent that earned the
highest TIPScore among the group has one of the lowest opening bid prices in the entire auction. It is very likely that someone will get a bargain next week."
The TIPSheet is a single report that contains the TIPScores (TAEUS Intellectual Property Scores) for the patents reviewed in the auction. Each TIPScore is an average of eight scores the patent earned in the following categories:
1. Observability
2. Ease of Investigation
3. Lack of Prior Art
4. Alternatives
5. Technology Maturity
6. Current Commercial Use
7. Future Commercial Use
8. Strength of Claims
TAEUS uses a scale from one to five which includes strict definitions for each score that is given in each category. Subject matter experts (SMEs) are trained to read and evaluate patents within the TAEUS system. The result of this patent evaluation process is a rating of the technical quality of the patent, an explanation of the rating, and a list of potential licensees (companies and products) for the patent.
"The data provides a solid indicator of a patent's 'licensability' and technical quality," commented Jim Adams, PhD, Chief Technology Officer of TAEUS.
