2010-03-10 13:36:19 - 10th March 2010, Swivel Secure, the UK based pioneer in tokenless two-factor authentication solutions has been awarded the CESG Claims Tested Mark (CCTM) for its highly acclaimed PINsafe® technology. CESG is the UK Government’s national technical authority for Information Assurance and is an arm of GCHQ based in Cheltenham.

The CCTM scheme provides a government quality mark for the public and private sectors based on accredited independent testing, designed to prove the validity of product functionality claims made by vendors. In more colloquial terms, CCTM is designed to assure public bodies and businesses that a product or service does ‘what it says on the box’.
PINsafe is a highly flexible and scalable system used by large global enterprises, public sector bodies and smaller businesses to confirm the identity of authorised IT users when they need to access their corporate network resources, particularly when outside the perimeter security shield. Developed in the UK and one of the first strong authentication solutions to use mobile phone and PDA devices instead of tokens

to present a one-time-code for each login attempt, PINsafe is now in use in virtually every country in the world with hundreds of thousands of individual users.
The CCTM accreditation has been awarded following independent testing of the company’s claims made in terms of PINsafe’s functionality, configuration and integration capabilities as well as the ability to protect the users’ identity from shoulder-surfing, phishing attack and man-in-the middle interception during the login process.
The accreditation certifies that PINsafe v 3.6 can be used to provide the authentication for VPN access, Websites and Web applications for many of the market leading vendors including the Microsoft IAG, Cisco ASA and Juniper SA SSL VPN.
