- Structured Growth Capital, Inc., Philadelphia Allison Tomek, 215-885-4795 atomek@sgcfunding.com Structured Growth Capital, Inc. ("Structured Growth") announced today that in its capacity as co-placement agent, along with NDH Capital Corporation, it facilitated and closed a $53 million private placement financing for Philadelphia's PRWT Services, Inc. ("PRWT"). PRWT intends to use the additional funding to expand their fast growing operations. With
the commercial banking and investment banking sectors reeling, Structured Growth was able to step in and efficiently and quickly provide the funding that PRWT desired.
PRWT Services, Inc., one of the country's largest and most successful minority-owned companies, was able to consummate this financing without any dilution or risk of jeopardizing its minority status with Structured Growth's proprietary funding approach, which enabled PRWT to receive its needed capital requirements today at institutional rates. Structured Growth and PRWT intend to explore more transactions in the near term to assist PRWT with its aggressive expansion plans.
"In all my years of experience doing hundreds of transactions, I have worked with many types of finance companies. After working with Structured Growth, I found them to be one of the few companies to offer such a creative and efficient means of financing," said Jerry Johnson, Vice Chairman of PRWT.
The new funding will be used to support PRWT's growth plans, including developing a pharmaceutical distribution business at its newly acquired active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) facility in Riverside, PA, and positioning Cherokee Pharmaceuticals to attract business from other pharmaceutical companies.
"In the face of the mortgage meltdown and the battered financial and banking sectors, Structured Growth's ability to provide funding has been unfazed and as a result its transaction flow has increased significantly," said Gregg Garnick, a Managing Partner at Structured Growth. "Structured Growth's proprietary funding approach represents a compelling alternative to traditional funding which is typically extremely expensive and is nearly impossible to obtain with the current state of the credit markets."
"Our clients love the fact that we fund transactions as small as $5 million and as large as $500 million on a non-recourse basis, at institutional rates, without any fees and without diluting equity ownership," Garnick said.
