State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the investment management business of State Street Corporation (NYSE: STT), announced today the appointment of Marc Reinganum, Ph.D. as head of its Active Developed Market Equities team. Based in Boston, Reinganum is responsible for all aspects of active management within the global developed market equity portfolios, and reports to Arlene Rockefeller, chief investment officer for global equities.

Reinganum joins SSgA most recently from Oppenheimer Funds, where he was a senior portfolio manager and director of Quantitative Research leading the research and investment technology teams and spearheading the portfolio strategy function.

“Marc brings a unique combination of investment management skills and academic research credentials to this demanding and important role,” said Rockefeller. “His strong track record of investment

performance, his background in quantitative investing and experience in developing dynamic investment models, will add significant breadth and depth to our global equity team.”


Reinganum is a board member of the Institute of Quantitative Research in Finance (Q-Group), a group dedicated to the development and understanding of new quantitative techniques. He has served as an endowed chair in Financial Investments at Southern Methodist University, and as director of the Financial Markets Institute and professor of Finance at the University of Iowa. He is a frequent presenter and author, whose work has appeared in the Journal of Financial Economics and the Journal of Portfolio Management, among others.
