2012-11-05 16:11:59 - Fundraising event calls on Postcode Anywhere’s address finder technology to facilitate online donation process

Figures released from Cancer Research UK’s (CRUK) Stand Up To Cancer fundraiser show that over 42,000 credit / debit card transactions were made over the course of the televised event last Friday, raising £6,486,995 so far. Online address capture and validation technology from Postcode Anywhere helped donors register their contributions, by accurately and speedily capturing valid addresses during the charity’s Channel 4 show.

With Postcode Anywhere’s technology being used both on the website and in the contact centre, Stand Up To Cancer organisers eliminated the time consuming process of accurate address entry at the crucial moment of donation. With over 20,000 addresses validated on the website alone, without the right address finder technology in place, this would have been a time

consuming process and one that could have resulted in the loss of potential donors.

Bill Marshall, Senior Project Manager for the Stand Up To Cancer campaign said: “CRUK needed a vendor that could handle the online traffic peaks expected from a televised campaign. Postcode Anywhere gave us the assurance that its platform could handle the expected load, allowing us to test up to the peak transactions per second threshold forecast for the live show. In addition, Postcode Anywhere supported our load testing activity by providing reference data to use in the tests and not charging for any of the test look ups.”
