2013-10-02 06:40:22 - The two worst NFL teams to wager money in October since the start of the 2008 season have been the Dallas Cowboys and San Diego Chargers according to sports handicapping service Vegas Experts
One recent NFL trend researched by the sports handicapping website Vegas Experts has found that wagering against either the Dallas Cowboys or San Diego Chargers has been a winning combination when it takes place during the month of October.
In the case of the Cowboys, the team has especially struggled when in the role of a favorite, as opposed to underdog status. In the former position, it has only managed to beat the Las Vegas betting line four of 14 times, but in the latter role, it has managed to nearly break even with a 2-3 record.
The Chargers have done marginally better as a favorite, but still find themselves with a 6-9 record against the pointspread. In three games as an
underdog, San Diego has failed to top the Las Vegas betting line, while in a game that was rated as a tossup, the team lost a 23-14 road decision to the Buffalo Bills on October 19, 2008.
Dallas finds itself in the rare position of a home underdog this weekend as the undefeated Denver Broncos are currently 6.5-point road favorites. The only other time the Cowboys have gotten points at home during this period was last year when the team lost 29-24 to the New York Giants.
The Chargers are five-point favorites in a road divisional game against the Oakland Raiders. This game will be played Sunday night in a scheduling change necessitated by the baseball playoffs.
