Span-America Increases Quarterly Cash Dividend by 11%

Span-America Medical Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPAN) announced today that the Board of Directors increased the quarterly cash dividend by 11% to $0.10 per share. The dividend is payable December 4, 2009, to shareholders of record on November 20, 2009.

"The 11% increase in our quarterly cash dividend highlights our solid earnings and cash flow performance in fiscal 2009 and our excellent financial condition,”

stated Jim Ferguson, president and chief executive officer of Span-America. “Our dividend program continues to be an important part of our ongoing efforts to provide value to our shareholders, and this dividend will mark our 80 th consecutive quarter of paying cash dividends. We have returned $23.2 million in cash to shareholders, or $8.38 per share, through our quarterly and special dividends since we began paying dividends 20 years ago.”
