ISLAMABAD, 17th September - The Families and children of SOS Village in Rawalpindi celebrated the holy month of Ramadan by participating in a special Iftar Programme arranged by SAMAA TV. 'Iftar Ka Samaa', which was held and broadcasted from the SOS Village, made more than 225 children witness the spirit of Ramadan with SAMAA TV and its distinguished guests.

of the business community, government and media were present at the event, sharing the true spirit of the holy month with the children of the SOS Village.
At the occasion, Ms. Nasim Muzaffar, Chairperson SOS Village Rwp, addressed the audience by appreciating SAMAA's initiative in sharing its business success and network to promote the cause of SOS Village and support the quality of life for underprivileged children in Pakistan. Ms. Muzaffar stated that 'SOS Children's Village of Pakistan is a social welfare organization dedicated to caring for orphaned and abandoned children. Our core activity is the rehabilitation of orphaned and abandoned children, providing them with a family environment, good nurturing and the very best education'. Four corner-stone elements play a key role in the family-like structure of the SOS Children's Village: a mother, brothers and sisters, a home and a village. She further added that 'we need to bridge the gaps between the social development sector groups and the business sector and focus on establishing quality partnerships to address the social welfare issues in our country'.
Mr. Amir Jahangir, Chief Executive Officer of SAMAA also shared that the media has an important role to play in creating value for the community and the audience it caters for.
'In Pakistan, there are more than thousands of children, who have no parents or shelter to provide them with even the basic necessities of life. The SOS Village Programme is providing nurture to more than 1700 children across Pakistan. This nurture not only includes food and shelter, but deepens its support by providing these children with protection, comfort and the values of family life'. Mr. Jahangir assured that SAMAA would continue to play an active role in bringing a positive change in the social, political and economic scenario in Pakistan.
Mr. Jahangir also added that the entire team of SAMAA was committed to developing quality and diversified content to its viewers; provide maximum value for its stakeholders and to share its business success with the communities it works with.
Iftaar Ka Samaa is a series of Iftar Programmes being launched nationwide by SAMAA TV, where team members of SAMAA each day dedicate a special segment to important and special members of its community. The aim of the programme is to lift the spirits and hopes of all community members and aspire towards a better future promoting political, social and economic development of the country.
