Sol, Inc. shines the light on its new CPU
2009-11-03 15:30:36 - aiSUN™ CPU now makes solar lighting the logical choice for most outdoor lighting applications

Palm City, Fl. — Sol, Inc. the leader in solar powered lighting is proud to announce its next generation solar light CPU - aiSUN™. The first in a series of new products scheduled for release, aiSUN makes solar lights brighter, more efficient, less complex, and more intelligent; continuing Sol, Inc.’s standing as the worldwide front-runner in solar lighting.

“Developing aiSUN™

for our customers further establishes Sol, Inc. as the go-to company for solar lighting,” said Rick Schuett, CEO. “With our increased efficiency and patent-pending dimming and control technology, aiSUN™ allows Sol, Inc. to configure solar light systems in the most cost-effective manner for nearly any location around the globe; allowing more customers to experience the benefits of off-grid solar lighting.”

Sol, Inc.’s internal engineering team developed aiSUN’s proprietary electronics and software. The patent-pending product is the company’s innovative combination of solar energy charge controller and high efficacy LED driver into one intelligent module. By combining two traditionally separated electronics modules, Sol Inc eliminates wiring, expensive components and simplifies installation and service of its light systems.

Applied in Sol Inc’s light systems for parking lots, pathways, trails, and roadways, aiSUN operates as the solar light CPU, efficiently converting solar energy into LED lighting. aiSUN’s flexibility allows a customer to configure their lights to operate in many different modes. One mode uses an A.L.L.Night™ (Adjustable Light Level) algorithm, which allows customers to define a near-infinite combination of lighting levels and operating times to illuminate their facilities when desired and at any brightness level. In addition, aiSUN supports direct integration of wireless and hard-wired inputs from building management systems to create an outdoor light control network.

“I am pleased that our engineering team has successfully integrated aiSUN™ into our solar light systems. This feature-rich CPU exceeds the requirements of the industry and sets the standard for the marketplace. aiSUN™ provides new benefits to our customers: reducing lead times for advanced features, simplifing installation, and reducing the costs of our light systems as well,” said Audwin Cash, V.P. of Engineering.

aiSUN™ is available in a wide-range of Sol, Inc. solar light systems including GreenWay™, Top of Pole Mounted (TPM), Side of Pole Mounted (SPM), Tropical Street Light (TSL), and Oasys™. To find out more about aiSUN™ please visit the company online at solarlighting.com.
