LONDON, England (February 5, 2013): A research degree student at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) has been awarded a 2012 Vivan Award from the National Press Club
A former foreign correspondent and foreign policy commentator, Eddie Walsh received the award for his service to the members of the National Press Club as the 2012 Vice Chair of its International Correspondents Committee.
Now a doctoral candidate in the Department of Politics and International Studies at SOAS, Mr. Walsh’s research aims to better explain the shaping, reinforcing, and changing of security discourses within democracies.
In addition to his studies, Mr. Walsh currently serves as the president of the Pacific Islands Society at SOAS, a Young Leader at Pacific Forum CSIS, and an adjunct fellow at the Federation of American Scientists.
