2008-09-01 17:08:55 - Ian McKellen has done exceedingly well in a new poll about the new AMC/ITV production of the cult classic, The Prisoner.

During August 2008, "The Prisoner Online" website asked its visitors to vote if they thought Ian McKellen will make a good Number 2. The votes have just been counted and it would seem it's an overwhelming Yes! Over 80% of those polled thought Ian would definitely make a good Number 2. 15% weren't sure and lessw than 4% thought he

wouldn't make a good Number 2.

Only time will tell if Sir Ian will be able to compete with the likes of Leo McKern and Colin Gordon who both appears twice as Number 2 in the 1960's original. Filming is currently underway in Namibia in a co-production between AMC and ITV.

During September, The Prisoner Online are conducting a new poll, asking which prop from the original show would you like to see make an appearance in the 2009 remake. Suggestions include Rover (the big white balloonthing ) - Lava Lamps - Bubble Chair - Unusual Phones - Coloured Umbrellas
