SGS, the global leader and innovator in inspection, verification, testing and certification services organises a seminar on actual wind energy topics on the 20th October in London, UK focusing on the technology and risks around onshore and offshore wind farm projects.
For the stakeholders in the wind energy, one of the main concerns is the availability of the wind turbines

and the reliability of the structures which depend on various factors. A minor failure can cause undesirable down time, which affects the key stakeholders such as manufacturers, owners, investors and, insurance companies.
This seminar will explain the potential risks involved in the wind farm projects, which may cause down time in energy generation, demonstrate how to execute a successful wind farm project with a case study, and introduce how SGS can help to alleviate the risks of unacceptable down time and loss in order to maximise the earnings through independent certification, inspection services.
Another important part of the seminar will be about how the stakeholders can maximise their profits by minimising the risks in the wind farm projects. This main focus covers wide range of topics from selection of right technology, design etc. to the best practices in manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and in-service inspections of wind turbines.
The presentations are going to have clear and concise technical information that will be sufficient enough to highlight the risks originating from the design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and maintenance phases of the wind farm projects.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The key stakeholders can greatly benefit from the supply of valuable information regarding the risk management. The seminar is designed for those companies with a vested interest both in the onshore and offshore wind farm projects.
