2013-09-30 11:47:51 - Cardiff based LED lighting supplier, Sedna LED are running a half marathon as a company team event - raising awareness for the Sedna Light Foundation and as part of Britain's Personal Best - A UK government and lottery funded initiative aiming to reignite the spirit of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Cardiff based LED Lighting Wholesaler, Sedna LED are getting involved with an exciting government initiative, looking to re-ignite the spirit of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in a mass participation event over the weekend of 4-6 October 2013. Britain’s Personal Best is about re-creating the sense of pride and accomplishment felt by Team GB. With the help of the Big Lottery Fund, the program asks organisations to get involved and set up challenges for employees to take part in, to make them feel good about achieving their own personal bests.
Sedna LED are paying the entrance fees and purchasing running shoes for a number of willing employees to enter the 2013 Cardiff Half Marathon! Nearly all of the staff
taking part have never attempted anything like this before and are novice runners, it’s got everyone training and thinking more about exercise and health.
They’ll be ditching LED Fluorescent Tubes for trainers! Sedna were the first Welsh company to get involved in the Lottery Funded scheme – and have received plenty of attention for it – the organisers thought their aims could inspire others to get involved too. The team are pushing each other to achieve personal bests but also aiming to raise awareness of the plight of The Sedna Light Foundation, which has aims in helping the poorest who suffer without light.
