Vendor rankings were based on total number of vendor accounts among the leading 250 softgoods retailers, estimated number of POS systems running the vendor's software based on store count and lanes per store data, and the retail

revenue represented by vendor accounts.

The study features an overview of the economic, technology and consumer trends shaping the retail sector as well as key business challenges softgoods retailers seek to offset via the use of POS technology, such as price pressures, rising labor costs and the need to do more with less. It also points to key trends in the industry that are dictating more emphasis on POS systems as the central system of record as well as the need for more advanced features and functionality.
