MIAMI, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 11/09/09 -- Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R), a leader in transportation and supply chain management solutions, today announced that John Gleason has joined Ryder as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, North America, of its Fleet Management Solutions business segment. He reports directly to Tony Tegnelia, Ryder's President of Global Fleet Management Solutions.

Mr. Gleason comes to Ryder following an outstanding 25-year career with Automatic Data Processing (ADP), one of the world's largest providers of business outsourcing solutions. For the past four years, he served as Corporate Vice President of Worldwide Sales for the $6 billion Employer Services division.



In that role, he had functional responsibility for all sales and sales-related activities for Employer Services, which included 5,500 sales employees, with 40 different product and service solutions and seven separate operating units with $1.2 billion in new annualized sales. He led the sales organization to record results for the past four consecutive years. Previously, Mr. Gleason had direct responsibility for leading the Automotive and Truck Dealer Services Sales Organization of 550 sales employees, as ADP doubled the size of the business unit to over $1 billion in revenue.



Mr. Gleason holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois and earned his CPA while with Coopers and Lybrand following his graduation.
