Press release 9 November 2009

Ruukki has signed contracts to deliver components for bridge projects
in Vladivostok, Russia and Warsaw, Poland. The orders are worth a
total of around EUR 3 million. The projects in question are the
largest bridge projects currently under way in Russia and Poland. The
components will be made at Ruukki's Toijala plant in Finland.

The Golden Horn bridge will be almost 1.4 kilometres long and is
being built to link two districts in Vladivostok, which is preparing
to host to host the 2012 APEC summit. The northern bridge under
construction in Warsaw will be 800 metres long and span the river
Vistula. The bridge will be completed in 2011.

Ruukki is to provide the stiffening sections used in manufacturing
the bridge structures. "In both projects, Ruukki and the bridge
designers have worked together to optimise the structural solution
chosen to ensure the best-value solutions. Most of the components to
be supplied will be made of high-strength steel," says Sami Eronen,
Senior Vice President, Infrastructure and Northern Europe, Ruukki
Construction.

Ruukki has strong technical expertise in challenging bridge projects:
the company's know-how in the dimensional and shape accuracy of
profiles will make the customers' fabrication work easier and more
efficient, and guarantee the high quality of the bridge structures.

Ruukki's customer in Russia is Kurganstalmost JSC and in Poland
Vistal Gdynia S.A. These two companies are responsible for delivering
the steel structures for the bridges to the respective main
contractor of each project. The designer of the Golden Horn bridge is
Giprostroymost/St Petersburg.
