NEW YORK, February 23, 2014— Before passing away unexpectedly in August 2012, Ronald Gabriel Paolillo penned an unforgettable play called “The Lost Boy”. The play is based on JM Barrie’s life as related to the characters in Peter Pan and how his relationships were the inspiration for the characters. It had been produced 7 years earlier in 2005 at the Helen Hayes Theatre in Nyack and The Queens Theatre in the Park when still in the development stages. Due to what would be the downturn in the economy and some life changes for Paolillo his focus was turned away from the piece and he eventually moved to Florida. After moving to Palm Beach Gardens to teach drama at the G-Star
School of the Arts, Paolillo revived the play with his students. The production was presented mere months before his sudden passing. This past fall the show was finally published through Playscripts and now Paolillo’s cousin, Dominic Paolillo has taken the show under his wing to produce it in 2014 in NYC. Dominic, like a modern day JM Barrie, has promised to keep Ron’s story alive. “Ron always dreamed this play would arrive on Broadway and I am committed to see that happen.” They are in the midst of fundraising for the first production which will either be an Equity Showcase or a Festival Production with the intention of bringing it to Off-Broadway shortly after. Dominic continues “Ron is my Peter Pan on this Journey and I will make sure this piece is never forgotten”
