TEN YEARS AFTER drummer RIC LEE has taken up yoga and pilates to make sure he can still cut it onstage at 60.

The LOVE LIKE A MAN rocker admits he has to take care of his body so he can cope with the physical demands of performing live - and so he sets aside time before shows to perform extensive yoga and pilates sessions. Lee says, "I have to pace myself. I get into town before a show at about 2pm or 3pm and probably have a snooze, a refresher. Then I'll do the soundcheck, maybe have a light bite to eat and then revert to yoga and pilates to stretch and get everything warmed up.

"I get to the gig as late as possible because there's nothing worse than hanging out after you've warmed up." And Lee admits he's working harder now behind the drumkit than he did during Ten Years After's heyday in the early 1970s.

He adds, "I'm onstage for two hours with the reformed line-up. I spend 10 minutes up there on my own, doing a drum solo. It was never like that when I was younger." (KL/WN/GES)
