Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to Revolutionize Classification & Search of Music Archives with new Music Pilot Technology

CLEVELAND (July

10, 2006) - The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum has partnered with Music Pilot Corp of Redwood City, California, a leading-edge technology company providing innovative search, discovery, and fully automated classification of music.

Music Pilot has developed an unprecedented technology to find and identify relationships in music that have previously gone undetected. These tools make it possible for computers to search vast musical archives and conduct comparisons of songs on a scale that could not possibly be done by humans. This unique software allows for fast and accurate analyses of music using mathematical algorithms to find similarities in sound. Using the technology, scholars - and ultimately fans visiting the Museum - will be able to find proverbial needles in the global music haystack.

Under the terms of the partnership, the Museum will adopt Music Pilot's exclusive technology to catalog and classify an extensive database of rock music and reviews.

The first phase of the project will allow visitors to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum to search an unprecedented database of music, video and biographical information of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees to find similarities. Kiosks in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will allow visitors to search a broader collection of music to find new relationships, influences and similarities. In time, these tools will also be added to the Museum website.

The technology has dramatic implications for music lovers and scholars everywhere. Music scholars can use the tools to find artists with similar styles and influences. Likewise, the applications will ultimately allow fans of one artist or song to identify other artists and songs with similar musical styles.

This will be the first fully analyzed and classified archive of the rock and roll songbook that will be made available in an easy to search and explore format. It will make this important part of American musical heritage more accessible to both present and future generations, reaffirming the Rock Hall as the premier music museum throughout the entire world.

'The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will use Music Pilot's technology to analyze modern music and explain its influences and effect in a way that hasn't been done before,- said Terry Stewart, President and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. 'New kiosks and, at a later point in time, technology on our web site will allow visitors to the Museum and rock music enthusiasts around the world to experience rock music and its history from many different points of view, research it on their own and gain a deeper understanding of the intricate, interwoven themes within the rock and roll songbook.-

'It's a privilege to validate our technology at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,- said Mr. Franz Auffray, Founder & President of Music Pilot Corp. 'They are the best and we are honored to have them as our partners. Everyone involved knows that this is the one they will be telling their grandchildren about,- added Mr. Auffray with a smile.
