VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/13/12 -- Riverstone Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:RVS)(OTCQX:RVREF)(FRANKFURT:3RV) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. I. Rodrigo A. Romo as its Corporate Secretary.


Mr. Romo has over 11 years of experience in administration and management of public companies. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Romo acted as Corporate Secretary for a number of the Lundin Group of Companies, namely, NGEx Resources Inc., Atacama Minerals Corp. (now Sirroco Mining Inc.), Lucara Diamond Corp. and Fortress Minerals Corp.



Prior to joining the Lundin Group, Mr. Romo acted as Corporate Secretary of Emgold Mining Corporation and ValGold Resources Ltd., and was a Securities and Corporate Paralegal for Quorum Management & Administrative Services Inc. ("Quorum"), a private company, which provides management, administrative, legal, geological and other services to a number of publicly traded mineral exploration companies. Prior to joining Quorum, Mr. Romo was a Securities and Corporate Paralegal with the large Canadian law firm. Mr. Romo holds a two-year diploma in Financial Management, Professional Accounting from BCIT, and a two-year Paralegal Diploma from Capilano University.


Pursuant to the terms of Mr. Romo's employment agreement, he was granted incentive stock options exercisable for the purchase of up to 125,000 common shares in the capital of the Company until February 13, 2017, at a price of $0.72 per share, being the closing market price of the Company's common shares as traded on the TSX Venture Exchange on February 10, 2012.
