www.researchandmarkets.com - Research and Markets (www.researchandmarkets.com/research/e6c0af/taco_bell_benchmar) has announced the addition of Restaurant Research, LLC's new report "Taco Bell Benchmark Analysis" to their offering.
Taco Bell is very well positioned as a consummate value player in our current economic environment. While it is obvious that other chains are doubling down on their value propositions, we note that Taco Bell is doing the same with its recent Why Pay More? initiative. However, Taco Bell's advantage in value competition has to do with its ability to easily mix and match ingredients to provide affordable, filling Mexican fare promotions that are easy on operations and margins. Notably, with menu items at a $0.79 price point, this chain has the lowest priced food (from
an absolute price basis) on the market.
In any case, brand leadership is fully committed to building new day part sales in order to justify operator investment in its Bold Choice re-image. Resultantly, we expect some major initiatives including a new push into breakfast, home meal replacement and snacks as management ventures to drive top-line growth at the expense of increased operational and executional risk. While the current operating environment further complicates an already ambitious plan, it is our opinion that the alternative scenario of losing more ground by staying still warrants the pursuit of this strategy.
