Toshiba Medical Systems has a sales network of local corporations and representatives in more than 120 countries. The company's medical systems are manufactured mainly in Tochigi, Japan, as well as at one location in China. The remainder of its international activities are limited to the sale, installation, repair and maintenance of medical devices. The company has recently enhanced its global operations with the establishment of an R&D centre in the US and a new sales subsidiary in China.

Toshiba Medical Systems is included in Toshiba's Social Infrastructure unit which also incorporates the company's Power Systems, Social Infrastructure Systems, Industrial Systems, IT Solutions and Toshiba Elevator businesses.
