Cleveland, Ohio – (October 2, 2012) – Remington College-Cleveland West Campus is partnering with El Barrio/West Side Ecumenical Ministry for a program to provide free job training and placement assistance for people seeking customer service jobs in the Cleveland area.

The program, partially funded through a grant from the National Council of La Raza, provides career coaching, customer service job training and visits to hiring companies – all at no charge.

“This is a great opportunity for people looking for customer services jobs but who may be lacking in some skills,” said Jessica Cartagena, Community Outreach Representative for Remington College-Cleveland West Campus. “We’re glad to be able to be a partner and support such a great program.”

will work with people in the program who are interested in pursuing higher education opportunities. Cartagena leads the campus effort to make college a reality for people in underserved communities.

Remington College is also working with Cuyahoga County, Esperanza and El Centro to come up with ways to improve college attainment and access in Cleveland’s Hispanic community.

“We want to be a part of a community effort to help people have access to higher education, achieve their career goals and make sure businesses in Cleveland have a well-trained workforce,” said Cartagena.
