2009-06-25 10:06:39 - Montego Bay's most popular music festival comes back this year with top international musical artists lined up to perform.

Montego Bay, Jamaica – The much celebrated Reggae Summerfest, or Sumfest as it is fondly called, returns this year with another batch of international artists slated to perform in this seven-day event. The Reggae Sumfest 2009 will start from July 19 up to the 25th and will feature world-renown musical artists such as Ne-Yo, Keri Hilson, Nas, Toni Braxton, and many others.

Considered to be a major tourist attraction, the annual Sumfest is a celebration of reggae and dancehall music – musical genres that originated in Jamaica – with a touch of hip hop and R & B. Top reggae artists and dancehall bands are the main feature of this festival. International artists that previously participated in this festival include

LL Cool J, Mary J. Blige, Shaggy, and various others.

As it is every year, the main events of the Reggae Sumfest 2009 will be held at Catherine Hall along Howard Cook Boulevard in Montego Bay. A beach party at Cornwall Beach will kick off the event on July 19, with a lineup of artists that include Cameal Davis, Errol Lee & the Bare Essentials, Khalil, and Timeka Marshall. DJ Mix Master Marvin will also be at the kick off party.

The festival's International Night will be on July 24 and 25 at the main venue with Ne-Yo, Keri Hilson, Coco Tea, and Jah Cure performing on the first night. The second night will feature Toni Braxton, Nas, Inner Circle, and Damian Marley.
