The RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS and BJORK made sure the first three-day Coachella Festival was one for the ages on Friday and Saturday night (27-28Apr07) with stellar headlining performances.
Bjork kicked off her world tour at the California desert festival on Friday backed by a colourful all-female brass band.
The eccentric Icelander, who once wore a swan outfit to the Oscars, made another startling fashion statement by wearing a black and white bodice together with a garish skirt for the open-air show.
But she still dazzled with her performance - playing a host of hits and new songs that included Innocence, her new collaboration with super producer Timbaland.
Last night, it was the Red Hot Chili Peppers' turn to thrill the festival's 60,000 happy campers and visitors.
Sporting a new, sculpted moustache, frontman Anthony Kiedis led the Californian four-piece through a hits show, drawing the biggest crowd of the weekend so far.
Bandmates Flea, Chad Smith and John Frusciante had a little fun during one of energetic Kiedis' stage breaks, running through a pitch-perfect rendition of Donna Summer's disco classic I Feel Love.
Bjork and the Red Hot Chili Peppers' performances are likely to be dwarfed tonight (29Apr07), however, when political rockers Rage Against The Machine reform for their first official reunion show at Coachella.
