Related Content Database (RCDb™) and Jinni today announced a partnership to bring Jinni’s recommendations based on innovative content genetics and user taste modeling to the cable service offering. The companies will offer demonstrations during the National Cable & Telecommunications Association’s The Cable Show 2010 being held May 11-13 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Jinni is a leading personalized content discovery and recommendation service that won “Best Product Idea” at the CableLabs 2010 Winter Conference. RCDb offers web services integration software and data services to content owners, network service providers, and consumer electronics manufacturers. Jinni’s personalized recommendation services are now pre-integrated for cable operators that deploy RCDb servers on their networks.
“RCDb offers cable operators the fastest way to deploy innovative consumer
services on their networks,” said Zane Vella, CEO of RCDb.
“Through our partnership with Jinni, we now integrate their APIs and extend the power of cable to deliver personally relevant recommendations to the cable subscriber.”
“Jinni redefines the field of discovery for TV shows and movies because it is truly user-centric,” said Mike Pohl, CEO of Jinni. “Our semantic approach is all about achieving a deeper understanding of both content and users, and accommodating how mood, social context, and more affect the viewing experience. With RCDb, our services can be deployed quickly and efficiently.”
The demonstration is being offered during NCTA’s The Cable Show 2010 and at RCDb offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
