Basketball star-turned-rapper RON ARTEST has explained himself after upsetting fans with boasts about smoking marijuana before big games and boozing at half-time on his new album MY WORLD.
The controversial sports star, who hit the headlines in 2004 after brawling with fans in the stands during an Indiana Pacers/Detroit Pistons game, insists the song, HATERZ, refers to his high school playing days.
He tells American magazine Sports Illustrated, "That was when I was younger... Definitely not in the NBA (National Basketball Association)."
