At a time when we desperately need new antibiotics to fight these resistant pathogens, the developmental pipeline is drying up as fewer and fewer new agents are identified and brought to clinical utility. Pyro's techniques allow the identification of a number of unique enzymatic targets in bacteria and should be the basis for much-needed new agents active against resistant pathogens. In view of this, I am pleased to serve as Chairman of the new Pyro Scientific Advisory Board.”
Alan M. Schechter, Chairman and CEO of Pyro Pharmaceuticals, Inc, added.
“Dr. Moellering is a world-renown clinician and researcher in infectious diseases. His agreement to be the Chairman of the Pyro’s Scientific Advisory Board should assist Pyro to chart a research, development, and clinical strategy that we expect will put us on a path to success. On behalf of Pyro, we welcome Dr. Moellering’s scientific and clinical stewardship, as we work towards the development of a new class of antibiotics.”
