ORCHARD PARK, N.Y., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Did you know that it's now as easy as a kiss to help change someone's life? That's the mission of the new Softlips(R) Care with a Kiss campaign, which kicks off in time for April 28th - Kiss Your Mate Day - to help bring smiles to young faces worldwide, one kiss at a time.

Just click on http://www.softlips.com/ and choose to send someone special -- a friend, relative or significant other -- a Softlips(R) e-kiss (using special e-cards complete with fun

kissing sounds) to brighten someone's day: in return, The Mentholatum Company, which manufactures the popular Softlips(R) lip conditioning lip balm line, will help bring smiles to children in developing countries who need cleft lip and palate repair by donating $10,000 to the non-profit organization, The Smile Train (http://www.smiletrain.org/).

"We are so excited to kick off this new campaign, which gives back to those less fortunate than us and is a great example of how even the smallest gesture can have an impact on someone's life," explains Nicole Gawronski, associate brand manager at The Mentholatum Company. "Not only can you show your friends and loved ones that you're thinking about them, we can also help change the lives of many children all over the world."

"I am so pleased that the efforts of The Smile Train will be supported by this fun campaign," says Michele Sinesky, special projects coordinator of The Smile Train organization, which has provided free cleft palate and lip surgeries for more than 220,000 children in 66 countries, including the United States. "The $10,000 donation from Mentholatum will be used for additional surgeries and give more than 40 children a second chance at life and a first chance to smile."

The Softlips(R) Care with a Kiss program will launch nationally on April 28, 2007, in honor of "Kiss Your Mate Day," and it will run through Valentines Day, 2008, with the goal of sending 40,000 e-kisses. Available e-kisses include a "flirty" kiss, a "friendly" kiss, a "funny" kiss, a kiss "just for mom" and more (with corresponding kiss sounds attached to the e-kiss cards).

Since 1999, The Smile Train has changed the lives of more than 220,000 children from 66 countries around the world with free cleft palate/lip surgeries. The Smile Train also supports training and research programs to empower local physicians in these developing areas with the skills to perform cleft surgeries. The Smile Train uses 100 percent of all donations for the free surgeries and to support their physician education programs.

Softlips(R) is a trusted name in lip health and has been a product of choice among women, 18-plus, for more than 10 years. Besides this special e- kiss campaign, the brand sponsors the Softlips(R) "Picture Perfect Lips" contest annually, which searches for "model-perfect" lips on average women around the United States.
