Print article Print article
2014-01-14 08:51:21 - Psyched in San Francisco is more than a counseling center owned and operated by women, it is a project of community wellness inside and outside the consulting room.

San Francisco, CA, Jan. 14, 2014 – Psyched in San Francisco is a psychotherapy center in the financial district of San Francisco that is unique in the therapy world for its project to reach beyond the therapy room and contribute to community wellness on a larger scale. In addition to offering state-of-the-art psychotherapy, Psyched in San Francisco psychotherapists are getting companies in the area to join with them to do good works in the community. Psyched offers free workshops and online tools for stressed-out parents and executives, free staff development talks for local businesses — teaching communication and empathy in the workplace — and they give away sandwiches to anyone on the street who needs one, the first Tuesday of

the month. What is more this counseling center is one of the few woman-owned and operated counseling centers in San Francisco.

Elizabeth Sullivan, one of Psyched in San Francisco’s founders and founder and former director of City CarShare, has an ongoing commitment to growth and social entrepreneurship in San Francisco. Now a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Elizabeth said recently, “We want to build well-being into the fabric of our city. When a person exits our center feeling hopeful and good after therapy, they’re confronted with intense psychological suffering on the street level. We want to be thoughtful about this, and to make a difference both inside the therapy room and in our community.” Traci Ruble, founder and former high-tech marketing executive says “Our staff of therapists are providing really effective psychotherapy based on the years of experience of what works. And research shows that a $1,400 investment in therapy does as much good as a $40,000/year pay raise. But research also shows that part of one’s psychological health is doing good for others. We are thinking about both.”

For individiuals and couples interested in psychotherapy, you can schedule appointments online from Psyched in San Francisco’s website with any of their staff at or by calling 415-520-5567. Offices are located in downtown San Francisco at Market and 2nd Street in the Hobart Building.

Going to see a psychotherapist has a proven return on investment and we want people who might not have considered psychotherapy before to take advantage of therapy’s very real and tangible benefits.
