mobivention has signed a distribution agreement with United Media for the popular cartoon brand PEANUTS. Cologne (Germany) - 2 December 2008 - mobivention, the global mobile content distributor, has signed a distribution agreement with United Media for the popular cartoon brand PEANUTS. In addition to image products such as wallpaper, themes and Flash Lite wallpaper, mobivention will also offer MMS Cards and Java games. The agreement provides mobivention with the distribution rights for the content throughout 9 Central and Eastern European countries - Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Macedonia (FYROM), Poland, Romania, Slovak Republic and Slovenia.
Created by legendary Charles M. Schulz, PEANUTS is widely considered as one of the best-written and most popular comic strips of all times. Appearing in over 2,600 newspapers around the world and reaching 335 million readers in 21 different languages, Charles Schulz's PEANUTS characters have also been featured in over 63 award winning television specials, 1,400 books, four feature films, and a Broadway musical.
For the first time, PEANUTS will appear on mobile phones in the mentioned countries. The mobile content products features the hilarious adventures of the entire PEANUTS gang, including lovable loser Charlie Brown, fussbudget Lucy, security blanket carrying Linus, piano enthusiast Schroeder, and of course everybody's favourite comic beagle Snoopy (and his little bird friend, Woodstock).
In addition to distributing the PEANUTS products through the existing mobivention distribution channels mobivention also targets new channels. For the future it is planned to build theme specific sub portals for PEANUTS, which will offer end consumers, mobile network operators and licensors a significant added value.
