2008-12-02 09:12:02 - Britney Spears says the past 12 months have been a "hell of a year" for her, but she is thrilled to have her career back on track with the release of her new album 'Circus'.

Britney Spears says it has been a "hell of a year" for her. The 26-year-old singer - who is set to release her new album 'Circus' tomorrow (02.12.08) - admits she has struggled to get her life back on track since her public breakdown earlier this year, but is pleased her fans have stuck by her.

She said: "The whole year has been a hell of a year for me. I have been working so hard on my album, but I didn't know exactly where I stood with everyone. When I received my MTV Video Music Awards and the audience stood for me, it showed me how much love is out there. "Recording this album has helped take my mind off certain things. For me, my music is therapy." Britney, who also celebrates her 27th birthday tomorrow, revealed she now prefers staying in with her two sons - Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two - rather than going out partying. She told America's Glamour magazine: "I don't like going out. I hate clubs. I hate being around too many people. I love my home and staying in bed and watching 'Dancing With The Stars' or reading a Danielle Steel novel. I'm kind of boring." Britney also revealed her New Year's resolution, adding: "I would like to stop worrying so much, because I worry all the time. And to learn how to be happier, just in general. I have to learn to take things not so seriously. And to stop biting my nails!"
