The Babylon Blog Published By Tate Publishing Gives Insider's View of War in Iraq

New Tate Publishing book by Colonel Glen Morris gives readers an inside look at what its like being sent off to war. Volunteering for reserve duty in Iraq, Tate Publishing author and Marine Corps Colonel Glen Morris assured his wife that as an officer, he would be safe behind the walls of a large base, only concerned about number of emails received daily. He was wrong.
Colonel Morris soon found himself 'outside the wire,' getting a firsthand look at the insurgency in the volatile al Anbar province. Morris now shares the published form of the Internet journal he wrote while overseas in a new book titled, The Babylon Blog.
Published by Tate Publishing & Enterprises, The Babylon Blog tells the story of patrolling through back alleys with the 'grunts,' wandering the halls of Saddam's palace, and commenting on chow at Camp Fallujah. Morris provides an intimate, sometimes humorous, look at what it's like to be the 'average Joe off to war.'
'We are so honored to publish this book,' said Mark Mingle, Director of Marketing for Tate Publishing. 'The Babylon Blog truly gives an open - and sometimes very neglected - view of what goes on day-to-day in the life of an American soldier in Iraq. Some accounts are touching, and other instances are hilarious, but Mr. Morris opens wide the viewpoint of a soldier, and honestly shares of his experiences with Iraqi children, Iraqi government officials, and the realities of life inside a war camp. It's a fantastic read, and the book translates very well from blog form into print.'
The Babylon Blog is available at any bookstore nationwide or can be ordered through barnesandnoble.com, amazon.com, target.com or directly from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore. An audio version of the book also is available from the publisher.
Morris resides with his wife and two children in Suffolk, Virginia.
