During Jan.-Sep.2008, 52 technology reformation projects were released by stock listed companies in China, among which 50 projects had revealed its investment value (The total investment value was RMB 24.82 billion, up 7.9% compared to the same period of 2007).

However, the number of technology reformation project declined. Except Central China had fell 30.8%, the other regions all had declined more than 70%, especially South China and Northeast had declined 85% and 81.8% respectively. East China, the most active region of technology reformation in the past also declined 77%.

During the first three quarters in 2008, technology reformation of china stock listed companies featured as total project number declines but an investment value rise of single project.

During the first three quarters in 2008, Hunan Province had the most of seven technology reformation projects with a total investment value of RMB 10.21 billion; the average investment value of those seven projects was RMB1.46 billion. Followed by the province of Guangdong, Yunnan, Shandong and Chongqing, they all had a total investment value over RMB one billion.

According to the sector, steel industry, non-ferrous metal smelting industry and auto industry were the top three regarding investment value.

This report is based on the ReportKing, the investment database of China stock listed companies; it collected the information of more than 40,000 investment projects released during 2000 to 2008. It recorded each project on the aspects of investment region, investment objective, affiliated industry, investment target, planned investment value, practical investment value.
