John Grounds, AIA, Named American Institute of Architects, California Council President, the Country's Largest Component of the National AIA Organization

www.aiacc.org - The American Institute of Architects, California Council (AIACC), elected John P. Grounds, AIA, as the new incoming, 2009 president for The AIACC, the nation's largest state architectural organization representing more than 11,000 members.
Grounds, a lifelong resident of California, graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1991. He became a licensed architect in 1995, and became
LEED(1) accredited in 2004. Ground's architecture career has an emphasis on large-scale healthcare projects. As a project leader for the past four years at RBB Architects Inc in Los Angeles, he has developed broad expertise in master planning and specialized areas of hospital design.
Grounds involvement with The AIACC began with service at the local and state levels as Director, Treasurer, First Vice President and President of the AIA San Fernando Valley chapter. He has also served as Associate Director, Director and Treasurer of The AIA, California Council, and as a Regent, Secretary/Treasurer of the California Architectural Foundation. The AIACC congratulates Grounds on his multiple accomplishments, and looks forward to his leadership as The AIACC President for 2009.
