Apogee to Launch Performing Arts Programs Across South Asia

Apogee President Kenneth Schneider is shown lecturing on Method Acting at the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts in Dharamsala, India.
2008-10-31 06:02:52 - The Apogee Foundation, a philanthropic corporation dedicated to the development of human excellence in the performance arts, will introduce its programs across South Asia to identify, support, develop and promote the region's elite talents.

The Apogee Foundation has announced that it is collaborating with national and international, public and private institutions to assist in the identification, development and promotion of elite performing arts talent across the nations of South Asia: a region of over 1.5 billion people, representing nearly 25% of the world's population.

All three of Apogee's major program divisions will be implemented

for these purposes: Apogee Awards, Apogee Academy and Apogee Artists. These three divisions serve, respectively, to identify and support emerging artists, to assist them in achieving their full potential, and to showcase their talent on the world stage in order to fulfill Apogee's mission of "recreating the future of human creativity."

The Foundation will begin implementing these programs primarily in India for the benefit of participants from all neighboring countries, with developments already underway in Myanmar (Burma), Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan as well as with institutions responsible for the Tibetan communities now resident throughout the region. Detailed information on each of these program areas can be found on Apogee's website:

Apogee President Kenneth Schneider said: 'South Asia is among the richest cultural and spiritual regions on Earth, and is home to much of the world's oustanding creative talent. We are privileged to participate in the continuing efflorescence of human excellence that these transcendent aesthetic traditions have consistently cultivated and produced.'
