According to the play's author, director and star, Joe Bevilacqua, 'As soon as audience members walk in, they will feel like they are really at a live radio broadcast in 1941!'

Joe Bevilacqua is a veteran of the stage, a published author and cartoonist, and an award-winning broadcaster, who has written, produced, directed and acted in hundreds of radio plays for National Public Radio and XM Radio. He was recently seen in the Shadowland Theatre production of Peter Shaffer's 'Black Comedy' in Ellenville, NY and his previous interactive murder mystery dinner theater play, 'Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of the White Wolves of Napanoch,' successfully raised money to build a playground in Ellenville. He has also written a number of books and many articles for The Ellenville Journal, Orange Magazine and others.

The premise of of the play is that The Highland Murder Mystery Club is meeting to honor Poughkeepsie Pete Polanski, Famous Gumshoe, played by Bevilacqua, with a radio dramatization of his most famous case, complete with sound effects. Just as the radio drama begins, someone in the room is killed and Poughkeepsie Pete must solve the real murder live on the air with the help of the audience.

There will be will lots of laughs and performances of classic songs from the 40s, including 'Ain't Misbehavin, 'My Funny Valentine,' 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,' 'Blues in the Night,' "Minnie the Moocher," and others.

'Murdering Microphone' musical director Julian Baker says, "I love this show as it allows me to play the old standards of the 40's. Truly the Golden Era of songwriting."

To add to the fun, Bevilacqua, a veteran voice magician who was a protege of Daws Butler, the voice of Yogi Bear, will also lend his vocal impressions of such old-time stars as Humphrey Bogart, W.C. Fields and James Cagney, via recording, as if they are live remotes for Hollywood.

In addition to Bevilacqua and Baker, the large cast includes many 90 Miles veterans and newcomers, from New Paltz, Pine Bush, Napanoch and Ellenville, New York--Claudia Battaglia, Steve Battaglia, Alec Cafaro, Steve Ford, Leah Frank, Lorie Kellogg, Sherry Kitay, Kim Lupinacci, Gregory Mc Elroy, Dushka Ramic, Erica Reinecker, and Steven Papp.

Plus, each night will feature special guests stars in cameo performances, including Lt. Joe Snyder, incoming New Paltz Chief of Police; Toni Hokanson, New Paltz Town Supervisor; David Dukler; New Paltz Board of Education President; and Joyce Minard, New Paltz Chamber of Commerce President, and more.
