Total Wine & More Donates to Community Food Bank, Celebrates Tucson Opening

2008-10-01 02:22:14 - Total Wine & More, America's largest independent retailer of fine wine, spirits and beer, announced today that they will be donating $10,000 to the Community Food Bank during their grand opening celebration, which is taking place on October 8 at 6:00 p.m. at their store location in the Oracle Wetmore Power Center, 4370 N. Oracle Rd.

David Trone, president of Total Wine & More, Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup and other city officials will be present during the opening ceremony to present the donation check. Full tours of the 21,580 square foot store will be given by Total Wine's expertly trained wine associates.

'As a new community partner here in the Tucson region, Total Wine & More wants to be able to contribute back as much as possible,' said Trone. 'Being able to help the Community Food Bank meet the food needs of the hungry in Pima County is something our company believes is important to support and we are happy to contribute in any way possible.'

With several locations throughout Pima County, The Community Food Bank acquires, stores and distributes more than 14 million pounds of food annually to reduce the impact of hunger and chronic malnutrition. The organization does this through programs of advocacy and nutrition education.

Total Wine & More's store location in Tucson is the company's third in Arizona, with two other superstores in Glendale and Phoenix. The Tucson location will have more than 11,000 wine, beer and spirit selections available to purchase, many of which are made locally and will be available to be sampled during the ceremony.
