Limited-Time Benefit For TIA Members: 90-Day, No Obligation Trial Of CarCareONE Credit Card

The Tire Industry Association (TIA), in its ongoing efforts to help its members make it through these difficult times, is pleased to announce that GE Money, purveyors of the CarCareONE consumer credit card, is offering TIA members a 90-day, no obligation trial of the CarCareONE card.

2008-09-23 23:08:52 - Bowie, MD - In today's struggling economy, when people are delaying needed automotive services, tire dealers need all the help they can get in making tires and tire repairs as affordable as possible. The Tire Industry Association (TIA), in its ongoing efforts to help its members make it through these difficult times, is pleased to announce that GE Money, purveyors of the CarCareONE consumer credit card, is offering TIA members a 90-day, no obligation trial of the CarCareONE card. This offer expires November 30, 2008.

A major benefit of CarCareONE is that it allows customers to pay for automotive purchases (including tires and tire service) over 90 days with no interest - something that is generally not available with most major bank credit cards. Dealers who accept CarCareONE report that customers spend an average of 291% more for purchases made on CarCareONE, versus other credit cards, like VISA® and MasterCard®.

If, after the 90-day trial period, the dealer wishes to cancel the CarCareONE program, all he/she has to do is return the equipment, and cancel the program. All costs (except actual usage charges) will be waived. TIA members interested in this offer can visit the 'Members Only' section of the TIA website (www.tireindustry.org), or by calling 800-876-8372 for the complete details. Those interested in joining TIA can visit www.tireindustry.org, and click on 'Member Services,' or call 800-876-8372.

'There are over 200,000 CarCareONE cardholders in California; over 150,000 in Florida; and over 142,000 in Texas. These are all potential customers that dealers, especially in these difficult times, can't afford to miss,' said TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield. 'TIA members who are currently accepting CarCareONE have told us that it's been well worth the investment; it's a ‘win-win' situation, because it provides dealers with a powerful weapon to increase sales, and it provides customers with a great way to afford needed automotive purchases. It's just one of the many great benefits TIA members have to help them succeed.'

TIA is an international association representing all segments of the tire industry, including those that manufacture, repair, recycle, sell, service or use new or retreaded tires, and also those suppliers or individuals who furnish equipment, material or services to the industry. The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has a history that spans more than 80 years and includes several name changes. Originally known as the National Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association (NTDRA), the organization gave birth over the years to the American Retreaders Association (ARA) and the Tire Association of North America (TANA). ARA changed its name to the International Tire & Rubber Association (ITRA) and merged with TANA in 2002 to form the current Tire Industry Association (TIA), which now represents every interest in the tire industry.
