The agency and other area businesses and government organizations were formally recognized for their commitment to following environmentally-friendly business practices, at a reception held by the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors on September 11th in San Jose.

1,000 Bay Area organizations in the Green Business Program who 'walk the talk' by working with like-minded clients and vendors, and adopting green business practices in daily operations.

The Designworks Client Portfolio includes a green building technology innovator, a developer of large-scale industrial water recycling solutions, a Bay Area Environmental Testing Laboratory, and a leading manufacturer of LED lighting. Designworks also provides marketing services to Specialty Solid Waste & Recycling, a contractor to the City of Sunnyvale for residential waste management and recycling programs.

Green Business Practices

-- Provide clients with access to the agency's website extranet to conduct paperless meetings, review work-in-progress and exchange documents and files online, reducing paper use and carbon footprint.

-- Create digital alternatives to traditional communications: websites, Flash interactive products, content management tools, online ads and e-campaigns.

A compliance-driven framework for improving environmental performance, developed by Bay Area local governments in collaboration with the US EPA, Cal EPA Department of Toxic Substances Control, and the business community.
