Spheres of Influence Salon on Climate Change Kick-Off Event
2008-09-17 19:59:03 -
- On Monday evening, September 22nd, Dr. Sarah Warren launches the Spheres of Influence Salon on Climate Change with native Chicago actress Nora Dunn (Saturday Night Live, Pineapple Express) and corporate leaders. The focus of the kick-off event will be how we can vote to fight global warming and how we can use our spheres of influence--how we can effectively use our voices and votes.
Dr. Warren will moderate a Roundtable discussion featuring:
-- Nora Dunn native Chicago actress (Saturday Night Live, Pineapple Express)
-- Rob Harmon renewable energy policy thought leader from Bonneville Environmental Foundation
-- Brooks Scott of pioneering green company Patagonia
Following the first day of the Corporate Climate Response Conference, Ms. Dunn, Mr. Harmon and Mr. Brooks will share their inspirational stories with corporate, civic and environmental leaders as well as concerned citizens about how they are using their spheres of influence to tackle climate change for the sake of tomorrow's children--and how we can "vote green."
This event marks the debut of the Spheres of Influence Salon on Climate Change. The Salon is a membership-based organization that offers a one-of-a-kind live and virtual forum that brings together civic and business leaders with experts and thought leaders on climate change from around the country to catalyze meaningful, high impact collective action on the climate crisis.
The Salon launches with an intimate invitational dinner event during which the Roundtable will occur. The dinner event will take place at 6:45PM at Riva Restaurant on Navy Pier immediately following the Corporate Climate Response Conference. The program will run until approximately 9:00PM.
This event embodies corporate, entertainment and environmental perspectives on the most pressing challenge--and opportunity--our civilization has ever faced. According to Nora Dunn, "When it comes to the issue of global warming, I think it is wise to shrink the problem down to a size we can contend with, rather than seeing the task as so huge that it seems impossible to turn around."
We invite you to cover this event or to interview Dr. Sarah Warren or our speakers on the myriad ways we can use our spheres of influence to tackle climate change, use our and voices and votes effectively. To learn more please visit www.ourspheresofinfluence.com.
