Normalcy in Kashmir Valley needs fresh outlook

2008-08-19 08:59:02 - Hardliner Hurriyat leader Geelani encashing the Amarnath land row and then economic blockade called at the rally TCR ground to lay his life for liberation of Kashmir made the hot pot boil after the land transfer to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) and its revocation.

Kashmir Valley, where normal life was disrupted for eight days due to the agitation to end the "economic blockade", limped back to normalcy today following separatists' decision to suspend the strike for three days.
Schools, shops, business establishments and offices opened as the Coordination Committee -- an amalgam of separatists, social organisations, traders' and employees' bodies -- decided to suspend the strike for three days beginning today.Vehicles were seen plying on all city and inter- district routes of the Valley.

The separatists had decided to suspend the strike for three days to provide relief to students, labourers and other sections of the society who were hit by the shutdown.

However, vehicles and business establishments perched black flags atop their buildings as a mark of protest and in support of the demands of the separatist groups.

The separatists had launched the agitation on August 11 demanding the opening of Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road to end the "economic blockade" of the valley in the wake of the Amarnath land stir.

As many as 22 people were killed during the protests and in police firing in the Valley.

In Kashmir, a separatist Hurriyat Conference has announced to suspend its ongoing strike for 3 days from today. According to reports, the decision to give relaxation in the strike has been taken keeping in view the hardships of the people. The Hurriyat leaders have said that minorities should feel safe in the valley. They have appealed the people not to target any vehicle coming from outside the state.

With this furore the Kashmir will be pulled back to another ten years.Any further develoment will henceforth stops due to ongoing protest in the valley and terrorist leaders taking front seats.Kashmir attraction, the beautiful state will have no tourist and its business to reach low ebb.People of Kashmir who has their major business with tourist will find the atmosphere equal to that in war torn state of Pakistan.Development which has been initiaed with the process of democratic process has been overtaken by the short vision of self style leaders trying to please with their hollow promises for voicing against the Indian Government.

Their leaders ideas jumping to conclusions to have direct Kashmir state trade with Pakistan does not bear fruits as the Pakistan needs trade pact not only with Kashmir but with total India to seek wide market with range of products ,the consumption of Kashmir state in comparison to India is too small and fragmented of India.

Therefore the need of the hours is to educate the Kashmiris to be liberal to have secular mind to get the fruits of trade in totality with all communuty trade,a trade within one community Islamic or otherwise within two states does not extend in long term brings stagnation, even the EU,US also looks for extended market in todays world.Intellectual Leaders must prevail in KASHMIR with essential features of education to the youngster giving global touch of community rather than holdings to censervative view about the vibrant world. The state of affairs of POK,Independent Kasmir or Kashmir occupied by china remains in dire straits.

Otherwise the development works started by the Indian government will be incongruous, daunting task lies ahead for Kasmhmiris to come back to main streams of development with that of Indian states. Kashmir will finds itself back to primitve age with age of riots, protest and tension with hardsips and economic fruits will not reach riots torn state.Kashmir needs fresh outlook with educated youngsters managing the beauty, charm with their outlook.

Pro Pakistan slogans shouting crowd reached sonewar to sumit demand of plebiscite along with various association such as Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCIK) and Kashmir Hotels and Restaurant Owners Federation (KHROF) Kashmir University Teachers Association (KUTA), Valley doctors, hoteliers, Houseboat Owners Association Non-migrant Kashmir Pandit and Sikhs submitted the memorandum representatives from different localities and associations also submitted the memorandum demanding right to self determination to UNMOGIP.

Placards read: 'Why is secular India killing innocent Kashmiris', 'Teri Mandi Meri Mandi Rawalpindi Rawalpindi', 'It is peaceful Kashmir versus violent India', 'Humanitarian intervention needed' , 'Implement UN resolution and stop killing and torture', 'India beating UN cheating' and 'Islam means peace for humanity'.
