Press Conference 11 a.m. on Monday, August 4; Study Rates Nutritional Quality of Children's Meals at Top Chains

- The nonprofit California Center for Public Health Advocacy (CCPHA) will hold a news conference to release the findings of its investigation of the nutritional quality of children's meals at 13 major restaurant chains. The study calculates the number of possible meal combinations and determines the percentage that exceed recommended levels of calories, saturated fat and sodium.

What: CCPHA, in cooperation with the Washington, DC-based Center for Science in the Public Interest, releases Kids' Meals: Obesity on the Menu--its investigation into the nutritional quality of children's meals at top chain restaurants. CCPHA will display common children's meals from these chains and identify some of the worst choices as well as some of the healthier ones. CCPHA will also display new menu boards from New York City, which now requires chain restaurants to list calories.
