Flu Shot Steals Mother's Hope of Son growing up to be like Barack Obama

(San Antonio, TX) - According to Michelle Mouille her son Maurice Lamkin, Jr. at age five was once a healthy and very outgoing little boy. She expresses that he often greeted his classmates with the peace sign and almost everyone they encountered were immediately drawn to him. However, Ms. Mouille reveals all of that changed on October 27, 2004 when he received a vaccination from a WIC clinic that was considered a simple flu shot.

Michelle Mouille, a single mother with four children says when she sees Senator Barack Obama running for President she visions what a future could have actually looked like for her son Maurice. Revealing that Maurice is also a biracial little boy and she is a white single mother, the same as Barack Obama.

The fact that Maurice survived could actually be measured as a miracle. A nonprofit organization vaccinetruth.org profiles Maurice's story on their website. The website relates that what actually happened to Maurice was mysterious and resulted in a debilitating illness that has drawn attention from doctors across the country. Citing that after Maurice received the vaccination he developed a fever the very same night and only a few days later he was in the intensive care unit with his brain swelling and puzzled doctors reviewing his case.

Maurice would continue to fight for his life for 40 days, after which his mother says he went to a rehabilitation facility where he suffered to even learn the very basics. During this time Ms. Mouille stresses that she experienced extreme financial hardships. Ms. Mouille says the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program should offer more assistance to families experiencing financial hardships. She states the Mayo Clinic has expressed interest in evaluating Maurice's case but the cost of barely meeting basic living expenses leaves her with no means to get Maurice to the location.

"I seek everyday to raise awareness about the ill side effects of vaccine injuries and desperately need financial support to help improve Maurice's quality of life and continued rehabilitation," stated Michelle Mouille.

Today Maurice remains in diapers, can not speak and all of his meals must be pureed to baby food. Some of the doctors who have reviewed Maurice's case suspect that the flu shot is to blame, while others will say it just a coincidence. A pediatric neurologist that actually consulted on Maurice's case has stated that an adverse reaction to the flu shot can cause encephalitis, an inflammation of the brain.

Maurice's case has been reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Vaccine Monitoring System. According to Dr. John Iskander, who is an epidemiologist and pediatrician affiliated with the agency, he stresses that Maurice's illness may remain a mystery.

"It's very difficult to make a determining decision whether the flu vaccine was to blame," stated Dr. John Iskander.

Ms. Mouille says that before the flu shot Maurice was considered a healthy and normal little boy. She urges for more public education and regulations for vaccine injury awareness. Ms. Mouille continues by pleading her case that while ill side effects from flu shoots are supposed to be slim; when you become that slim percent suddenly odds no longer appear slim.
