- Jeff Murphy, vice president of sales for Kemin AgriFoods North America, announces the appointment of Cody Swan as the Product Manager responsible for the marketing strategy of KemTRACE(R) brand Organic Trace Minerals.
Murphy said, "Kemin is experiencing an exciting period of growth with the launch of a new product in January and several anticipated product launches later in the year. Cody's product management experience and background in the animal health industry will enable him to champion the marketing strategy of a key product line at Kemin as well as successfully introduce new products into the industry."
KemTRACE Organic Trace Minerals are a patented source of organic micro-minerals for use in all phases of livestock production. Trace minerals play a critical role in many vital body functions; including the activity of enzyme systems, digestion, support of the immune system, the respiratory system, the circulation system and the transport system for electrons and nutrients across cell membranes.
The KemTRACE product line provides essential trace minerals to the desired target in a highly bioavailable form. Because KemTRACE minerals solubilize and rapidly dissociate at the right place, they provide highly available trace mineral elements in an ionic form for transport across the cell membrane. Thus, KemTRACE minerals are readily absorbed and utilized by the animal for optimum performance, health and well-being.
The KemTRACE mineral line includes Chromium, Zinc, Manganese, Copper and Cobalt. KemTRACE(R) brand Chromium Propionate is a patented source of organic chromium for use in all phases of pork production. The primary function of chromium is to potentiate the action of insulin resulting in increased glucose uptake at the cellular level, ultimately providing energy required for tissue growth. KemTRACE(R) brand Zinc Propionate is a patented source of organic zinc for all phases of livestock production. Research has shown that zinc is a critical element in the proper functioning of several key enzymes and the immune function of animals. Zinc has also been shown to enhance production and the health status of animals.
In his role as Product Manager, Swan will guide the strategy of KemTRACE minerals for the United States, Canadian and Latin American markets for all livestock production.
When speaking about his new position, Swan said, "I look forward to working in the animal agriculture industry, developing relationships with customers and building the KemTRACE mineral line here at Kemin. Kemin animal health solutions can truly impact the success of animal production."
Prior to joining Kemin, Swan served as Product Manager then Account Manager at John Morrell & Co., where he managed all phases of inventory, marketing and sales of John Morrell pork products in the Central United States. Prior to joining John Morrell & Co., he worked at Fort Dodge Animal Health as a laboratory supervisor. Swan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.
The AgriFoods businesses of Kemin focus on Total Nutrition(TM) to help customers achieve a highly effective, consistent system of profitable animal production. Total Nutrition focuses on understanding nutrients and nutricines and their appropriate application in animal feeds. Kemin coined the term "nutricine", a vital component of Total Nutrition, to identify ingredients that are essential in combination with good nutrition and solid animal husbandry, to maintain profitability while enhancing the health and well being of animals.
