A tree dedicated to the memory of Britain's Princess Diana has been vandalised. A tree dedicated to the memory of Britain's Princess Diana has been vandalised. The tribute to the late Princess of Wales - which was planted in Jersey Farm Woodland Park in St Albans 10 years ago - had is bark stripped and is likely to die after the attack. Police are appealing for witnesses. PC Jos Bartlett from the St Albans Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "The tree meant a lot to the local community and this incident has really upset them so I am really keen to trace the person responsible." The attack comes after Prince William recently paid tribute to his mother by incorporating part of her family's coat of arms into the crest he commissioned to mark his appointment to the Knights of the Order of the Garter. William's heraldic symbol, a roaring lion with a red tooth and claw, has had a small red scallop shell, modelled on those in the princess' coat of arms, carved into its collar. The crest will be mounted above William's seat in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, alongside other living Knights' crests.
